01 · Scope

This notice covers the public marketing website at axk.org and its sub-paths under this domain. It does not cover the AXK Network protocol itself, on-chain interactions on the XRP Ledger, or applications operated by third parties that integrate with the network. Activity recorded on the XRP Ledger is public by design and is governed by the XRP Ledger rather than by us.

Where this notice refers to we, us, or Afrikabal, it means Afrikabal Inc., a corporation registered in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, with operating headquarters at Norrsken Kigali, KG 9 Ave, Kiyovu, Kigali, Rwanda.

02 · What we collect

We have made an active choice to collect as little personal data as possible from visitors to this site. Today the site uses no third-party analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cross-site profiling tools. What we do collect falls into three narrow categories.

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records the standard information generated by every HTTP request: the IP address that issued the request, the user-agent string of the browser, the URL requested, the response code returned, and the timestamp. These logs are kept only to operate the site, debug outages, and detect abuse.
  • Information you give us. If you contact us by email, fill out a form, or otherwise reach out, we receive the content of that message and any identifiers (such as your name and email address) you choose to include. We use it to reply, and we keep it as long as the conversation remains active.
  • A theme preference cookie. A single first-party cookie stores whether you have chosen light or dark mode. It is not used for tracking and is described in our cookie notice.

03 · How we use it

We use the data described above for the operational purposes that justified collecting it in the first place: to serve pages, to respond when you write to us, to remember your interface preferences across visits, and to keep the site available and reasonably secure.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not enrich it with information bought from data brokers. The data collected on this site is used to operate this site.

04 · Storage & retention

The site is hosted on infrastructure operated by reputable providers in the United States and the European Union. Server logs are retained for up to ninety days for security and operational diagnostics, then rotated out. Email correspondence is kept inside our mail provider for as long as the conversation remains active and is archived thereafter according to ordinary business-records practice.

When a retention period expires, we delete or de-identify the relevant data unless we are required to keep it for a longer period to comply with a legal obligation.

05 · Your rights

Rwanda has its own data protection law (Law N 058/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy) and we extend its substantive protections to every visitor regardless of where they reside. We additionally honour, on request, the rights that visitors from the European Union would have under the GDPR. In practical terms you may ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and confirm whether we are processing it.
  • Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erase data we no longer have a lawful basis to keep.
  • Restrict or object to particular kinds of processing.
  • Receive a copy of the data you have provided to us in a portable, machine-readable format.

Email joe@axk.org with the subject line data request and we will respond within thirty days. If we cannot identify you from the information available, we may ask for additional verification before acting on a request — this is to protect you, not to obstruct you.

06 · Children

AXK Network is an institutional infrastructure platform. The website is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen, and our messaging is not designed to appeal to minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to us at the address above and we will delete it.

07 · International transfers

Afrikabal Inc. is incorporated in the United States. The team that operates the site works primarily from Kigali, Rwanda. As a result, personal data you submit to us is likely to be transferred across borders — at minimum between the United States and Rwanda, and potentially through European Union infrastructure operated by our hosting and email providers.

Where data leaves the jurisdiction in which it was collected, we rely on the standard safeguards offered by our providers (including, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses) and on our own internal access controls to ensure the protection of the data does not weaken in transit.

08 · Security

We apply ordinary engineering hygiene to the systems that touch personal data: encrypted transport, restricted administrative access, least-privilege credentials, and routine review of the third-party services on which we depend. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever experience a breach that materially affects you, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within the timeframes required by applicable law.

09 · Updates to this notice

We update this notice when our practices change or when the law requires us to. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent review. Material changes will be flagged on the home page or in a direct communication where we have a way to reach you. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated notice.
